Job Description
The Commis 1 – Pastry supports the pastry team in preparing and presenting pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked products to hotel standards.
The role works with Pastry Chefs and culinary team members to maintain consistent quality, cleanliness, and efficient kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with pastry and dessert preparation, baking, decoration, presentation, ingredient preparation, and basic pastry techniques.
- Maintain food quality, presentation, hygiene, sanitation, clean workstations, organized equipment, and storage areas.
- Follow recipes, portion controls, production schedules, food-safety procedures, hotel policies, HACCP requirements, and workplace safety standards.
- Support mise en place, daily production, the Pastry Chef, senior team members, daily operations, and special events.
- Store ingredients and finished products correctly and minimize food waste through proper handling, storage, and portioning.
