Role Overview

The Mission

• Prepare and cook dishes according to Mama's recipes and quality standards.
• Complete mise en place and keep the station organized, stocked, and ready before service.
• Deliver consistent quality, flavor, and presentation on every dish.
• Use ingredients wisely, manage stock efficiently, and help reduce food waste.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and clean and maintain it after service.
• Support fellow chefs during busy services and guide Commis 2 and Commis 3 when needed.
• Continue learning new techniques, seasonal ingredients, menu updates, and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Applicants need 2–3 years of professional kitchen experience.
• Solid knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation is required.
• The successful candidate keeps the station clean, organized, stocked, and ready for action.
• The role requires focus and quality delivery during fast-paced service.
• Attention to detail, teamwork, reliability, consistency, and a willingness to learn are required.

Work Environment

• The role is based in the Mama Shelter Dubai kitchen and involves busy service periods.
