As a Commis, you will support the culinary team with daily food preparation and production.
The role includes mise en place, cooking, quality, presentation, portion control, hygiene, and food safety.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, mise en place, and cooking under the Chef de Partie.
- Prepare ingredients and dishes according to standard recipes and portion requirements.
- Maintain clean, hygienic, and organized kitchen workstations.
- Store, label, and rotate food items properly to minimize wastage.
- Follow senior-chef instructions and work effectively with the culinary team.
About you
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Strong teamwork and willingness to learn from senior chefs.
- Commitment to food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- A Culinary Arts, Professional Cookery, or related certificate or diploma is preferred.
- Basic Food Safety or HACCP certification is advantageous.
