Role overview
Ciena’s Optical Modem NPI and LCM Engineering team is seeking a Coherent Plug NPI Program Manager.
The role supports optical product introductions, manufacturing readiness, production ramp activities, and manufacturing scalability.
How you will make an impact
- Lead projects involving Research and Development and Operations Engineering teams.
- Define deliverables, schedules, and milestones with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Track operational deliverables critical to program success.
- Review plans, communicate risks and changes, and establish contingency plans.
- Manage prototype builds in company laboratories and contract manufacturing environments.
- Coordinate production readiness activities for manufacturing ramp execution.
Must-have qualifications
- Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Optical Engineering, or a bachelor’s degree in one of those fields.
- At least 3 years of project management experience.
- Application of optical and electrical test engineering principles.
- Cross-functional leadership across engineering and operations teams.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
