Load and secure parts into fixtures using the work holding method specified on the setup sheet
Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs for trimming, drilling, and routing composite parts
Run CNC programs at the control panel, monitoring tool engagement and listening for signs of a developing problem such as chatter, delamination, or fiber breakout
Make program-level adjustments and tool offset corrections to account for tool wear, fixture changes, or new part numbers
Change worn or damaged cutting tools on schedule or when surface finish begins to degrade
Check dimensions at regular intervals using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to confirm parts are within tolerance
Tag and set aside out-of-tolerance parts for quality review, escalating to the supervisor rather than continuing a suspect run
Read work orders and travelers for part number, revision, quantity, and inspection requirements
Log completed units, cycle time, and downtime in the shop floor tracking system
Clear dust and debris from the work area and keep dust extraction equipment running properly
Keep the work area to 5S standards and participate in daily startup checks on fluid levels, guarding, and safety interlocks
Other conditions include:
Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and different shifts, on occasion, based on demanding manufacturing schedules
Stand for long periods of time. Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Repeat the same movements. Bend or twist the body. Climb ladders, kneel, stoop, or crouch for long periods of time
Work in a dirty, dusty environment (PPE provided)
PCI manufactures products that may act as an irritant and trigger allergic reactions or asthmatic symptoms in susceptible workers
