Responsibilities
- Accurately mix, distribute, and replenish coolants, cutting fluids, and lubricants across multiple CNC machines according to specific operational parameters
- Perform daily chemical tests using refractometers and pH meters to monitor coolant concentration, alkalinity, and biological control
- Execute routine cleaning of machine sumps, operate tramp oil skimmers, and maintain coolant recycling and filtration equipment to prevent fluid degradation
- Safely navigate and operate within heavy industrial environments, specifically alongside Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) operations, ensuring all fluid management aligns with production and heat treating schedules
- Identify and resolve fluid related issues such as foaming, foul odors, rust, or poor tool life, adjusting chemical dosing as necessary
- Track the consumption of chemical inventory, manage stock levels of raw coolant fluids, and initiate purchase requests to prevent shortages
- Strictly adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) protocols regarding the handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals and waste fluids. Maintain accurate logs and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
Requirements
- Detail oriented and highly skilled with specific experience in Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) plant environments
- Experience in comprehensive management, preparation, and maintenance of metalworking fluids and coolants for high precision CNC machinery
- Ability to perform daily chemical tests using refractometers and pH meters
- Experience with equipment maintenance including cleaning machine sumps, operating tramp oil skimmers, and maintaining coolant recycling and filtration equipment
- Ability to safely navigate and operate within heavy industrial environments alongside PWHT operations
- Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve fluid related issues
- Experience in inventory control and chemical consumption tracking
- Strict adherence to HSE protocols regarding handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals
