Role Overview
- The Clinical Nurse Leader demonstrates clinical expertise, strong leadership and collaborative skills in interactions with staff and members of the healthcare team.
- Supports the Clinical Nurse Manager in leading, precepting and mentoring the nursing and midwifery staff as clinical expert in a unit/service.
- Key member of the interprofessional team ensuring standards for nursing and midwifery care are adhered to at unit/service level while working within an assigned shift.
- Accountable for shift coordination, patient flow, patient experience and resource allocation.
- Demonstrates problem solving, conflict management and service recovery skills to serve as a role model and change agent.
- Professionally accountable to the Chief Nursing Officer.
