Overview

  • To assist Physician in clinic including accessing, adding, and modifying the patient medical records under the physician’s supervision.
  • Request the necessary investigation for the patient.
  • To assist the provision of high-quality care to patients and their families under the direction and supervision of the Physician/ Registered Nurse/ Midwives.
  • Demonstrate a range of skills to meet the needs of patients whilst promoting dignity, privacy, and respect.
  • To provide a range of healthcare and non-nursing duties, ensuring efficient and effective service to the ward/department at all times.
  • To assist with administration and non-nursing duties.
  • To perform basic care under the direction of Physician/ Registered Nurse/ Midwife.
  • To assist all patients who are able, towards independence and activity under the direction of the Physician/ Registered Nurse/ Midwife.
  • To provide patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients' calls and requests; reporting observation of the patient to the team leader.
  • To assist patient transfer to other departments.
  • To accompany patients who are ready for discharge.
  • To transport equipment and patient records between departments.
  • To support the registered nurse staff and ward clerk in the clerical, administrative, and receptionist duties in the ward.
  • To assist in maintenance of stocks and non-medical supplies.
  • To develop and utilize good communication skills and receive and pass on telephone messages.
  • To ensure appropriate utilization of resources effectively and efficiently.
  • To provide positive patient experience through the delivery of high-quality customer service.
  • Observe and maintain confidentiality of information data relating to patients, staff, service, and the organization.
  • To appropriately escalate identified concerns according to level of urgency.
  • To liaise with nursing colleagues and adhere to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, local requirements, and JCI standards.
  • To be able to administer and seek advice on the appropriate measures in an emergency.
  • To attend in-service training, other training programs, and meetings as required.
  • To process clear understanding and commitment to NMC policy. Accepts and recognizes the legal limitations and ethical parameters of the role.
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in meeting work demands and ability to work as a team.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Be informed on health & safety regulations affecting the unit in which they work.
  • Have full knowledge of fire precautions and regulations.
  • Be familiar with all types of hospital codes and know how to telephone for emergency services.
