Company Overview

  • Decima International is a professional services company providing project management and controls services.
  • Seeking a Civil Supervisor for a large scale project in Dubai, UAE.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day to day civil construction activities on site.
  • Monitor civil works including excavation, backfilling, concrete works, foundations, structural elements, blockwork, finishes, external works, roads, drainage, utilities.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, site engineers, consultants, QA/QC, HSE, and project management.
  • Review daily site activities and ensure proper coordination of manpower, materials, equipment.
  • Monitor contractor progress against approved schedules and look ahead plans.
  • Identify site constraints, quality issues, coordination gaps, and construction risks.
  • Support inspections and ensure civil works are ready for inspection and testing.
  • Verify compliance with inspection and test plans, quality procedures, and codes.
  • Monitor site safety practices and ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
  • Review method statements, shop drawings, inspection requests, material deliveries.
  • Assist in resolving technical queries, RFIs, design clarifications.
  • Maintain daily site records including progress updates, manpower reports, site observations.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in civil supervision on large scale building, infrastructure, industrial, or mission critical projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Strong experience supervising day to day civil works on active construction sites.
  • Solid understanding of civil construction methods, site execution, quality requirements, safety standards, and construction sequencing.
  • Experience supervising earthworks, concrete, foundations, structural elements, blockwork, finishing works, drainage, external works, utilities, roads.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, structural drawings, specifications, method statements, shop drawings, inspection requests.
  • Experience coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, QA/QC, HSE, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to monitor progress, identify delays, and support corrective actions.
  • Strong awareness of site quality control, inspection processes, NCR follow up, punch list management, handover requirements.
  • Good understanding of construction safety practices.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage daily site priorities.
