- Ensure all static equipment engineering activities are executed efficiently and cost effectively per contract specifications, quality standards, and safety/environment requirements
- Act as technical authority and lead the Technical Assurance process for the assigned project
- Review and approve all engineering deliverables for static equipment, including specifications, data sheets, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations
- Prepare deliverables planning for static discipline in line with project schedule; monitor progress and set up recovery plans
- Plan discipline engineering man hours in line with progress schedule and budget; monitor deviations
- Supervise material requisitions for mechanical equipment, coordinate engineering subcontractors, and interact with suppliers
- Ensure static equipment engineering is coordinated with other disciplines; propose optimizations to minimize costs and schedule
- Carry out periodical estimates of material and erection quantities; attend inspections and tests in vendor shops
- Support Site Technical Office during erection and commissioning phases
- Interact with Client as key technical contact; support Project Management Team in disputes and claims
Requirements
- 10–15 years of experience in Static Equipment Engineering within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Energy projects
- Proven experience in Mechanical Engineering leadership roles on large EPC projects with focus on Static Equipment
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Deep knowledge of main international codes, standards, and best engineering practices for rotating equipment, static equipment, and HVAC systems
- Fluent written and spoken English

Overview
- Arkad is expanding operations for a strategic local EPC project in Abu Dhabi area. Seeking a high caliber Chief Static Equipment Engineer under an Abu Dhabi contractual framework.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Ensure that all activities related to the static equipment engineering discipline within the assigned project are efficiently and cost effectively executed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety/environment requirements.
- Act as the technical authority and lead the Technical Assurance process for the assigned project.
- Formally review and approve all engineering deliverables issued by the Static Equipment discipline for the project, including technical specifications, mechanical data sheets, inspection data sheets, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations for equipment.
- Prepare the deliverables planning of the static discipline in line with the project schedule. Control, review, and monitor any progress deviation from the plan, setting up recovery plans as necessary.
- Plan discipline engineering man hours in line with the progress schedule and budget, strictly monitoring any deviations between spent and earned man hours.
- Perform or supervise the overall process of the Material Requisitions for mechanical equipment (MR issue, bids technical evaluation, vendor follow up, and review of vendor technical documentation). Coordinate engineering subcontractor activities and interact directly with suppliers for technical iss
- Ensure static equipment engineering is developed with proper coordination among other engineering disciplines. Analyze project constraints to solve issues arising during engineering development, and propose optimizations or changes to minimize quantities and costs or optimize the project schedule.
- Carry out the periodical estimate of material and erection quantities. Attend main inspections and tests in vendor shops, and support the Site Technical Office during erection and commissioning phases.

Your Profile
- 10–15 years of long standing experience in Static Equipment Engineering within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Energy projects. Proven experience in Mechanical Engineering leadership roles on large EPC projects with a specific focus on Static Equipment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a solid Mechanical Engineering background.
- Deep knowledge of main international codes, standards, and best engineering practices for rotating equipment, static equipment, and HVAC systems.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
