Role Overview
The Chief Risk Officer will lead Joud's enterprise risk management function.
Joud is a BNPL fintech operating under Qatar Central Bank's regulatory framework and expanding across Qatar and the wider MENA region.
The role focuses on consumer credit, fraud, regulatory, operational, cyber, strategic, and data protection risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Design an enterprise-wide risk framework aligned with QCB guidelines, fintech standards, and business strategy.
- Develop credit risk policies covering automated scoring, customer segmentation, payment behavior, and merchant onboarding.
- Oversee operational, IT, cyber, fraud, regulatory, third-party, business continuity, and disaster recovery controls.
- Conduct risk assessments and workshops, establish KRIs and risk tolerance thresholds, and report to the CEO and Board.
- Represent the risk function with auditors, regulators, and investors.
- Lead and mentor the risk team and promote proactive risk ownership across the company.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- At least eight years of enterprise risk management experience is required, preferably in fintech, banking, payments, or consumer credit.
- Solid knowledge of Qatar Central Bank regulations and risk reporting formats is required.
- Experience with credit risk modeling, fraud analytics, and data-driven risk scoring is required.
- Familiarity with ISO 31000, COSO, and other risk management standards is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- An MBA, MSc Risk, FRM, CISA, or CIRM certification is strongly preferred.
Key Competencies
- Strategic and analytical thinking, risk awareness, and knowledge of digital finance and BNPL risk dynamics are required.
- Proficiency with risk modeling tools, communication, stakeholder engagement, leadership, mentoring, cybersecurity, and data protection is required.
- The role requires high integrity and attention to detail in high-pressure environments.
Workplace and Employment
- The position is full-time and based in person.
