Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to drive the development of advanced laser designator systems and electro-optical (EO) seeker technologies for precision guidance applications.

This role involves system architecture, multi-domain sensor integration, and leadership of full-cycle defense R&D programs from concept through deployment.

The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise and proven leadership in developing multi-mode seekers across laser, infrared (IR), and radio frequency (RF) domains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop laser designator systems for multiple operational platforms
  • Design secure, coded, and eye-safe infrared laser systems
  • Lead the development of semi-active laser (SAL) seeker heads for precision guidance
  • Design and integrate multi-mode seekers combining laser, IR, and RF sensors
  • Oversee system integration with UAVs, fire control systems, and targeting pods
  • Develop communication protocols and coding interfaces between designator and seeker systems
  • Integrate and enhance precision guidance kits for existing platforms
  • Establish and manage comprehensive testing programs (captive, flight, and validation testing)
  • Build, mentor, and lead high-performing electro-optical engineering teams

Required Competencies

  • Expertise in laser designator technologies (Nd:YAG, diode-pumped, and fiber lasers)
  • Strong experience with semi-active laser (SAL) seeker systems
  • In-depth knowledge of IR optics and detector technologies
  • Proficiency in laser coding and secure targeting protocols
  • Experience with multi-mode seeker integration (laser, IR, RF)
  • EO payload integration with UAVs and mission systems
  • Understanding of atmospheric propagation and its impact on EO systems

Education & Experience

  • Ph.D. in Optical Engineering, Photonics, Physics, or Electrical Engineering
  • *(MSc considered with significant hands-on experience in seeker/designator systems)*
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in defense electro-optical and laser systems
  • Proven track record of leading R&D programs from concept to deployment
