Overview

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
• MBA, Master's Degree in Energy Management, or a related field preferred.
• Professional certifications in Refining Operations, Trading, Supply Chain Management, Risk Management, or Corporate Governance are advantageous.

Industry Experience (Mandatory)

• Oil & Gas Industry experience is mandatory.
• Proven executive leadership experience within the Downstream Oil & Gas sector.
• Strong experience across Refining, Marketing, Trading, Distribution, Retail, and Supply Chain Operations.
• Experience leading complex downstream businesses with full P&L accountability and multi-market operations.

Key Requirements

• 20+ years of experience in Oil & Gas, with significant experience in executive leadership roles.
• Strong understanding of refinery operations, yield optimisation, pricing, trading, and margin management.
• Experience leading large supply chain, distribution, logistics, and retail networks.
• Strong commercial and strategic leadership with proven success driving profitability and growth.
• Experience managing regulatory compliance, environmental standards, product quality, and stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead the firm’s regulatory compliance strategy and implementation plan in line with VARA requirements and expectations
• Maintain the full Compliance Program, including policies, procedures, governance, monitoring, and reporting
• Implement and oversee core controls including AML/CFT, sanctions compliance, KYC/KYB, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting, and record-keeping
• Partner closely with senior leadership, operations, product, and investment teams to embed compliance into business processes (“compliance by design”)
• Manage vendor/partner due diligence (custodians, brokers, service providers) and ensure ongoing oversight
• Lead compliance training, conduct awareness programs, and cultivate a strong culture of compliance across the organization
