Day-to-day responsibilities
- Prepare all dishes in the assigned section using established recipes and plating instructions.
- Check raw material quality, storage, handling, and usage in the assigned area.
- Train colleagues on food preparation, hygiene, and grooming standards with the Chef.
- Keep the Chef informed about equipment, working conditions, colleague issues, and department relations.
- Attend kitchen meetings in the Chef's absence and counsel subordinate colleagues when necessary.
- Prepare kitchen mise en place according to production and business requirements.
- Assist with creating and developing new dishes and recipes while following market trends.
- Check refrigerators and freezers regularly for proper operation and cleanliness.
- Rotate kitchen stock consistently and keep food wastage to a minimum.
- Maintain hygiene standards throughout food preparation and keep the assigned section clean.
- Ensure kitchen equipment is regularly maintained and cleaned.
What we need from you
- Flexibility to work night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- A college or university degree is a bonus but is not essential.
- At least one year of experience as a Demi Chef de Partie.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 50 pounds (23 kg), including bending and kneeling.
