ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop curriculum for short-term certificates and customized corporate training.
• Adapt teaching methods for diverse learners (entry-level to upskilling professionals).
• Maintain hands-on labs and real-world project-based learning environments.
• Guide students in certification exam preparation and portfolio development.
• Collaborate with employers to align training with industry needs.
• Adheres to Alvin Community College’s policies and procedures.
• Attends institutional meetings as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Three (3) or more years of combined industry and teaching experience.
• Active certifications in at least two of the following areas: Microsoft: MCT, MCSE, MCSA, MOS Expert for Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access; Power Platform, or Azure

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Basic computer proficiency using Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Basic proficiency in online tools such as Blackboard
• The instructor will frequently perform autonomously and must be self-motivated
• Will be required to proceed with independent actions with mutually established guidelines and minimal supervision from the CEWD Director
• Must be flexible with the ability to workdays, nights, and/or weekends with the understanding that available hours will be based on the needs of the program not to exceed 19 hours per week
• Must be flexible and understands a minimum number of hours is not guaranteed and that classes may be cancelled and/or rescheduled with minimal notice due to student need, student enrollment and/or program needs
• Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, or related field.
• Experience with grant-funded workforce programs.
• Background in corporate training or career coaching.
• Bilingual- English/Spanish (Speak)
