Responsibilities
- Responsible for the engineering and design of CCS, BBP, M&D, and Grid Automation projects.
- Manage the workload of the projects to ensure 90% and above billable ratio.
- Liaise with other members of a multidisciplinary team.
- Support Operations team to control projects effectively in terms of budgeted profitability, planning, and reporting.
- Ensure agreements with customer for documentation lead times, delivery, reliability and quality are achieved within budgetary constraints.
- Follow workplace EHS issues and ensure availability of suitable PPE for T&C personnel.
- Manage and secure approval as well as renewal of approvals of engineering engineers from key accounts.
- Ensure commitments to customer are met in accordance with contract through consistent customer interaction.
- Implementation of ServiceMax during the project execution.
- Handle engineering and field service works for protection relays, panels, schematics, etc.
- Support for all production documents (Wiring Table, Label list, Cable Schedule, etc.), CT/VT Adequacy check, Relay setting calculations.
- Revise drawings against comments and replying to customer/Consultant comments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electronic/electrical engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in protection, CCS, M&D systems such as MiCOM, UR family protection relays, DGA900, MS3000, etc.
- Minimum of 3 years of working experience in high voltage substation engineering and field activities
- Strong knowledge in protection main relays and busbar philosophy
- Strong knowledge in Conventional Control System (CCS), distributed control system (DCS) and cyber security system implementation and design
- Strong knowledge in field devices, instruments and CCS systems
- Ability to understand and implement technical drawings (wiring diagram, P&ID, General Arrangement, etc.)
- Strong communication skills in English

Job Description Summary
- The CSS Project Engineer owns the project control activity globally and drives consistent functional specifications and common global processes for projects implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the engineering and design of CCS (Conventional Control System) & BBP (Busbar Protection), M&D (monitoring and diagnose) Projects, any other GA (Grid Automation) related projects.
- Manage the workload of the projects to ensure 90% and above billable ratio.
- Liaise with other members of a multidisciplinary team.
- Support to Operations team to Control projects effectively in terms of budgeted profitability, planning, and general reporting (internal / external).
- Ensure that agreements with customer for documentation lead times, delivery, reliability and quality are achieved within the budgetary constraints agreed within the Unit.
- Follow workplace EHS issues and ensure availability of suitable PPE for T&C personnel, both internal and subcontracted.
- Manage and secure approval as well as renewal of approvals of engineering engineers from key accounts.
- Ensure commitments to customer are met in accordance with contract with clear feedback through consistent customer interaction, e.g. communication, (phone, e mail, etc.) and customer meetings, periodic reviews etc.
- Implementation of ServiceMax during the project execution.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electronic/electrical engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in protection, CCS (Conventional Control System), M&D (monitoring and diagnose) systems such as MiCOM, UR family protection relays, DGA900, MS3000, etc.
- Minimum of 3 years of working experience in high voltage substation engineering and field activities.
- Strong knowledge in protection main relays and busbar philosophy.
- Strong knowledge in Conventional Control System (CCS), distributed control system (DCS) and cyber security system implementation and design activities.
- Strong knowledge in field devices, instruments and CCS systems.
- Ability to understand and implement technical drawings (wiring diagram, P&ID, General Arrangement, etc…).
- Strong communication skills in English
- The role is based in the Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone) and requires regular travel, including approximately 20% within the UAE and 10% across the region.
Desired Characteristics
- PMP certification is an advantage but not compulsory.
- Fluency in Arabic is an advantage
- Knowledge of schemes and application of protection relays in electrical networks including HV & EHV systems, and state of the art technologies in substation automation.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, to convey technical concepts to business and technical personnel
- Ability to read / interpret tender / contract documentation, schematics, procedures, and policy guidelines.
- Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to define problems, collect relevant data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines, work under pressure, take ownership of onsite activities.
- Experience of managing projects for protection and control systems is a distinct advantage.
- Willing to travel, in country and worldwide, and to work over time.
- Strong analytic and problem solving skills.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
