Role Overview
The Catering Chef plans menus and prepares food for large-scale events and catering contracts.
The role ensures quality, safety, and presentation standards while coordinating service logistics and supporting client requirements.
Responsibilities
- Plan menus and prepare and cook food for large-scale events and contracts.
- Coordinate food service logistics with catering teams and manage ingredient inventory and ordering.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff and optimize workflow for high-volume production.
- Maintain food safety and hygiene compliance and ensure consistent quality, presentation, and service standards.
- Collaborate with management on client requirements and special dietary needs.
- Apply cost control and attention to detail while working effectively under time constraints.
Qualifications
- Strong food preparation and cooking skills with high-volume or industrial catering experience.
- Experience with Continental or East Asian cuisines.
- Solid food service and culinary skills supporting efficient service and high standards of taste and presentation.
- Culinary management capabilities, including menu planning, kitchen staff supervision, and inventory control.
- Relevant professional culinary training, certification, or diploma is preferred.
