Summary of Duties
- Cashier must be able to work in a cafeteria where they take care of the beginning-to-end ordering process, from asking customers about their orders to processing payment and packing the requested food. Cashiers are exposed to several workstations, such as the front counter, app ordering, and dining room attendant, and may perform food prep. Safety & sanitation is a major aspect of the job to ensure cleanliness of the restaurant and follows safety requirements and food establishment procedures.
Responsibilities
- As a cashier, you will be expected to have excellent customer service and mathematics skills. Not only will you be taking orders from customers but will also need to answer customers’ questions and provide information with regards to menu items. Cashiers have to compute and record transactions at your POS (Point of Sale) terminal, process credit cards and properly count money from cash drawer. Other key responsibilities include issuing receipts, expediting orders, and maintaining the cleanliness of your workstation.
- Cashier may be required to wear a headset.
- Cashier may be required to be a key holder.
- Cashier must be in proper uniform at all times to include slip/grease resistant safety shoes.
- Cashier must prepare and package food quickly without compromising quality, by complying with Food Service Establishment recipes and procedures.
