Responsibilities
- Perform Electrocardiogram (ECG) on adult and pediatric patients
- Perform full 2D Echo study views and measurements in adult patients and assist pediatric Echo procedures
- Perform stress tests by hooking up patient to ECG monitor and monitoring heart during treadmill exercise
- Administer Holter monitoring tests, attach monitor, and print out data after 24 hour period
- Prepare, assess, and provide patient care for stress test patients before, during, and after procedure
- Provide patients with exercise regimens prescribed by doctors
- Obtain patient's medical history, record blood pressure, and explain procedures
- Respond to cardiac emergencies
- Apply ambulatory blood pressure monitor and explain to patient, transfer data
- Screen artifacts in Holter monitoring and capture minimum, maximum heart rate and abnormal rhythms
- Maintain competence in ECG, Holter, ambulatory blood pressure monitor, and exercise stress test based on evidence based practice
- Participate in task forces and complete work related assignments on time
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in science in cardiovascular technologist
- Minimum of 2 years of experience
- Certified by Saudi Council

Job Summary
- Cardiovascular technologists must be able to perform Electrocardiogram (ECG), 2DEcho, Holter monitoring attachment and editing, exercise stress test and Ambulatory Blood pressure monitoring.
Primary Responsibilities
- Properly place ECG on adult and pediatric patients and perform full 2D Echo study views and measurements in adult patients; assist pediatric Echo procedures.
- Perform stress tests: hook up patient to ECG monitor for baseline, monitor heart while patient exercises on treadmill.
- Administer Holter monitoring tests: attach ECG monitor, allow patient to go about normal routine for 24 hours, remove monitor and print out data.
- Properly prepare, assess and provide patient care for Stress test patients before, during and after the procedure.
- Provide patients with exercise regimens prescribed by doctors; obtain patient's medical history, record blood pressure, explain procedure; respond to cardiac emergencies.
- Apply ambulatory blood pressure monitor, explain to patient, and transfer data.
- Be knowledgeable in normal and abnormal heart rhythm; report any urgent abnormal heart rhythm to attending cardiologists or physician.
- Screen artifacts in Holter monitoring, capture minimum and maximum heart rate, and record abnormal rhythms.
- Maintain competence and excellence in ECG, Holter, ambulatory blood pressure monitor and exercise stress test based on evidence based practice guided by American Heart Association.
- Participate in task forces and complete work related assignments on time regarding Cardiology department like census, typing and scanning of reports.
- Flexibility to work different shifts in different areas according to work needs within Cardiology department.
- Maintain safe environment for patient, family and staff; implement infection control procedures and guidelines.
Education / Professional Qualifications
- Education Degree: Bachelor’s in science in cardiovascular technologist.
- Years of Experience: minimum of 2 years.
- Certified by Saudi Council.
- Professional Certification (Optional): ECG certificate.
