CAD Design Engineer

Job Purpose

Technical Leadership

• Lead the CAD design team in preparing and reviewing engineering drawings using AutoCAD and related tools.
• Develop and review SLDs, GA drawings, control schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, cable schedules, termination drawings, interconnection drawings, and BOMs.
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements.
• Review technical deliverables before submission for accuracy and quality.

Project Execution

• Plan and allocate design activities across multiple projects and project schedules.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Procurement, Manufacturing, Commissioning, and Site Engineers.
• Monitor drawing progress, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
• Support technical documentation, material take-offs, procurement, and commissioning activities.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of CAD Engineers.
• Allocate work based on project priorities and team capabilities.
• Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance.
• Train junior engineers on AutoCAD standards, drawing practices, and engineering documentation.

Quality and Documentation

• Maintain drawing revision control and engineering documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review and approve final as-built drawings before project handover.
• Improve CAD standards, templates, and design processes.
• Ensure compliance with internal quality procedures and customer documentation requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work with Engineering, Projects, Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to resolve technical issues.
• Participate in customer meetings when required to provide design and documentation input.
• Support engineering change management and timely implementation of revisions.

Required Skills

• Require 8+ years of CAD design experience.
• AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical are mandatory.
• EPLAN is preferred.
• Require knowledge of Microsoft Visio and MS Office Suite.
• Require strong knowledge of SCADA, PLC, RTU, substation automation, and condition-based monitoring systems.
• Require understanding of electrical panels, protection systems, substation engineering, documentation, BOM preparation, and revision control.
• Require planning, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Compensation

• Pay is ₹1,200,000–₹1,500,000 per year.
