Role Description
The description presents a part-time remote Associate Software Engineer role supporting web and software solutions related to the forum’s activities and digital platforms.
The role involves collaboration with team members and technical contributors from diverse backgrounds.
Responsibilities
- Implement back-end functionality, contribute to small features, and write clean, maintainable code.
- Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and debugging.
- Translate requirements into technical specifications and improve system performance and reliability.
- Integrate third-party APIs, support deployment, and document code and technical processes.
Qualifications
- Foundational computer science knowledge, including data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
- Back-end web development and software development skills with exposure to server-side frameworks and database integration.
- Programming proficiency in at least one modern language such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming, version control, and collaborative development practices.
- Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, independent working ability, and effective communication.
- Current study or recent graduation in a related field is preferred.
- Web APIs, basic cloud concepts, technology events, hackathons, or open-source experience are a plus.
