Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Business Development Manager.
The selected candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and driving revenue growth.
Duties include conducting market research, developing strategic plans, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
The role also involves analyzing industry trends, preparing comprehensive reports, and representing VORTEM in professional and client-facing engagements.
Role Overview
As a Business Development Manager, your primary focus will be to identify and secure new business opportunities, projects, and client partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new client leads in construction, infrastructure, and industrial sectors
- Leverage your existing network to secure supply contracts and project opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, developers, and procurement teams
- Present our product range and capabilities to potential clients
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of supply agreements
- Stay updated on market trends, upcoming projects, and procurement demands
Requirements
- Proven experience in procurement, supply chain, or business development
- Strong network within construction, infrastructure, or industrial sectors
- Demonstrated ability to generate leads and close deals
- Deep understanding of building materials, machinery, and equipment supply
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Self-driven, entrepreneurial mindset
Compensation
- Commission-based structure only

Qualifications
- Business Development, Sales Strategy, and Account Management skills
- Strong analytical abilities to perform Market Research and identify key growth opportunities
- Negotiation, Communication, and Relationship-Building expertise
- Proficiency with CRM tools and familiarity with sales and reporting software
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Proactive problem-solving skills and a results-driven mindset
- Experience in the construction, steel, energy, or industrial sectors is an advantage
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus
