Job Description

  • As a Business Data Engineer, you will provide technical support for Power BI and SharePoint within Boskalis Nederland.
  • You will work closely with our Netherlands based team and support us in developing, maintaining, and enhancing technical applications on both platforms.

Your Responsibilities as Business Data Engineer

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize dashboards and reports in Power BI.
  • Build efficient and scalable data models tailored to business information needs.
  • Write robust DAX formulas and Power Query transformations.
  • Design dashboards with strong visualization and UX/UI principles, ensuring clarity, usability, and user friendliness.
  • Experience working with different data sources (SQL, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, cloud platforms).
  • Improve data pipelines and ensure strong data quality.
  • Proactively finding solutions for business questions into actionable BI solutions.
  • Possessing the Microsoft Power BI certification; PL 300; Power BI Data Analyst Associate, is considered as an advantage.
  • SharePoint functional: Site architecture, modern pages, web parts, lists & libraries, permissions & governance, automation with Power Automate.
  • Knowledge from: Build web parts and extensions, Microsoft Graph endpoints, backend integration patterns via Azure Functions.

Your qualities

  • Proven expertise in Power BI is a requirement for this position; familiarity with SharePoint is considered an advantage.
  • Experience with Agile and DevOps working methodologies is considered an advantage.
  • A proactive and professional attitude, with the ability to initiate and maintain communication with the Information Advisors in the Netherlands.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities, translate inquiries into reliable technical solutions.
  • The working language in the team is Dutch; proficiency in English is required and knowledge of Dutch is considered a plus.
