Role overview

Essential skills and experience

• 12–15 years of Business Analysis experience, ideally in energy, utilities, asset management, or complex engineering environments.
• Strong understanding of Business Analysis services.
• Strong Agile delivery experience covering epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, refinement, and backlog management.
• Excellent process mapping skills using Visio or a similar tool.
• Ability to define KPIs, reporting needs, business rules, and decision criteria.
• Experience with cross-functional Product Owners, architects, engineers, developers, testers, and data teams.
• Ability to create executive-ready documentation, options papers, decision packs, and product artefacts.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and workshop facilitation skills.

Desirable skills

• Knowledge of UK energy regulation, Ofgem, RIIO frameworks, or transmission business processes is desirable.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, SQL, or data visualisation tools is desirable.
• Understanding of data governance, data lineage, master data, integration, and API-based products.

Responsibilities

• Perform Business Analysis services for data-heavy products and operational decision-support tools.
• Support Agile delivery through epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, refinement, and backlog management.
• Map business processes using Visio or similar tools.
• Define KPIs, reporting needs, business rules, and decision criteria.
• Work with Product Owners, architects, engineers, developers, testers, and data teams.
• Create executive-ready documentation, options papers, decision packs, and product artefacts.
• Manage stakeholders and communicate clearly across delivery teams and business audiences.
• Facilitate workshops and bring structure to ambiguous problems.
