Full Job Posting

The Role

  • This is a fundamental research role on our push to catch browser based bots.
  • You'll generate and validate a body of net new detection signals over four months.

What You’ll do

  • Study how browser based bots evade current detection, working close to Chromium and JavaScript internals.
  • Form and test original hypotheses about what gives a bot away.
  • Validate your ideas against real customer data.
  • Hand your best signals to the engineering team.
  • Embrace Stretch Opportunities: special high value projects outside immediate scope.

Requirements

  • A Master's or PhD level computer science student or recent grad, or equivalent depth.
  • A real programmer with research instincts.
  • An understanding of bleeding edge bot detection and fraud strategies.
  • Deep in the browser: JavaScript from the inside, comfortable with Chromium internals and internet protocols.
  • Independent and relentlessly curious.

What this role is (and isn't)

  • This role is original research, not just implementation.
  • This role is deeply independent.
  • This role is genuinely hard.
  • This role is not a general software engineering internship.
