About the Role
Purplebox Storage & Moving seeks an experienced accountant for a one-month temporary project to set up and clean up accounting records in Zoho Books. The role requires strong Zoho Books experience, UAE VAT and Corporate Tax knowledge, and the ability to work on-site in Al Quoz.

Responsibilities
- Review current accounting records and identify missing or incorrect transactions
- Properly configure Zoho Books and create Chart of Accounts
- Set up customers, suppliers, services, bank accounts and opening balances
- Enter and organize all accounting records from January 2025 to current date
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, customer balances and supplier balances
- Review current customer invoices and ensure payments are recorded accurately
- Prepare a register of supplier contracts with amounts, invoices, payments and outstanding balances
- Review VAT treatment and organize supporting documentation
- Create simple accounting procedures and monthly closing checklists
- Work with developer to define accounting requirements for ERP and Zoho Books integration
- Train and hand over the completed system to in house employee
Requirements
- Minimum five years of accounting experience
- Strong practical experience with Zoho Books
- Previous experience setting up or cleaning up an accounting system
- Strong knowledge of bank reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger accounting
- Practical knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills
- Ability to work independently and complete the project within one month
- Strong attention to detail and document organization
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Must be available to work on site in Al Quoz

Job Summary
- Purplebox is looking for an experienced accountant to complete a one month accounting setup and historical clean up project.
- The successful candidate will set up the correct accounting structure in Zoho Books, bring all financial records up to date from January 2025, reconcile the accounts and hand over a clean and organized system to our in house employee for ongoing daily management.
- This is a temporary project based role, not a permanent bookkeeping position.
Main Responsibilities
- Review the current accounting records and identify missing or incorrect transactions.
- Properly configure Zoho Books.
- Create and organize the Chart of Accounts.
- Set up customers, suppliers, services, bank accounts and opening balances.
- Enter and organize all accounting records from January 2025 to the current date.
- Review invoices and receipts from WhatsApp, email, bank statements, contracts and company files.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, customer balances and supplier balances.
- Review current customer invoices and ensure payments are recorded accurately.
- Prepare a register of supplier contracts showing contract amounts, invoices, payments and outstanding balances.
- Review VAT treatment and organize supporting documentation.
- Create simple accounting procedures and monthly closing checklists.
- Work with our developer to define the accounting requirements for the ERP and Zoho Books integration.
Required Experience
- Minimum five years of accounting experience.
