As an OpenBMC Firmware Lead Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, debugging, and verification of OpenBMC firmware solutions for server and storage platforms. You will provide technical leadership across the firmware development lifecycle, from requirements definition and architecture design to implementation, validation, and release.
This position requires a self-motivated engineering leader who can collaborate effectively with customers, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality firmware solutions. The successful candidate will drive technical excellence, mentor engineers, mitigate project risks, and ensure timely execution of development milestones.
Lead OpenBMC firmware design, development, integration, and debugging activities.
Define firmware requirements, architecture, and implementation strategies.
Collaborate with project managers, firmware managers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
Drive technical planning, reviews, and risk mitigation activities.
Develop and execute software verification strategies to ensure product stability and quality.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and promote engineering best practices.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to firmware development processes and quality.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to meet project objectives and release schedules.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
8+ years of experience
Extensive experience in firmware design and development.
Strong hands-on experience with OpenBMC development and server management technologies.
Experience leading firmware teams and driving technical initiatives.
Strong background in embedded Linux and server platform firmware development.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
