Description
- Amazon is seeking an international employee benefits specialist to join our Global Expansions Benefits team.
- This role will be supporting the expansions benefits team on benefit design, strategy, implementation and documenting all benefit expansion activities, worldwide including US for Amazon’s Global Expansions and M&A activities.
- The scope of the role includes financial benefits, health and welfare benefits, and time away programs.
- This individual contributor role will be responsible for supporting the benefits expansion team on the benefits workstream for multiple key Expansions and M&A initiatives.
Key job responsibilities
- Benefit Strategy, Program Management and Design – supporting benefit manager for benefit programs that align to Amazon’s Global Benefits Framework, market practice, compliance requirements and provides flexibility as necessary for unique expansion needs.
- Implementation – support implementation activities of approved benefit programs, including selection and setup of benefit providers, creating project plans, assembling resources, and developing and documenting processes and policies through stabilization period.
- Benefits integration – support benefits manager in acquisitions in countries where Amazon has established benefits programs.
- Governance and Compliance – ensure programs align to Amazon’s benefit philosophy and meet local regulatory requirements in all countries.
- Vendor Management – manage vendor relationships, costs and performance across all in scope benefits programs and countries for new entity setups.
A day in the life
- A typical day involves meeting with Expansion and M&A Project Managers, HR leaders, Talent Acquisition, Payroll and other key stakeholders to develop and track progress against the benefits workstreams.
- It includes partnering with operations, compliance and systems teams to develop or implement new benefits proposals, evaluate compliance requirements and provides flexibility as necessary for unique expansion needs.
- A typical day is highly collaborative, working with colleagues in international benefits, internal partner teams and external consultants and suppliers.
About The Team
- The Amazon Health Benefit team is responsible for strategy and design of all Amazon benefits programs.
- The dedicated Global Expansion team is part of the Global Benefits team and are subject matter experts and diligence POC’s supporting Amazon’s Global Expansions and M & A activities.

Basic Qualifications
- Experience using English communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster seamless interaction with stakeholders at all levels
- Experience working on and delivering end to end projects independently
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
- Educated to degree level.
- 3 5 years of experience working within employee benefits.
- Experience with multi country employee benefit program development and delivery.
- Experience vendor management and establishing effective partnerships with external service providers to ensure quality service to Amazon.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience in employee benefit plan design including healthcare, workers compensation and pension schemes along with associated complexities of plan administration, associated payroll processes, country level regulatory requirements and benefits program taxability
- Focus on driving program efficiency along with measuring and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
