Position Overview

  • We are seeking a Bakery and Pastry Chef for our new branch in Abu Dhabi.

Required Skills

  • Creative yet highly structured, patient and detail oriented, passionate about presentation and product quality.
  • Calm and focused under pressure, maintains high standards consistently.
  • Works collaboratively with kitchen and bakery teams, communicates clearly during production and service.
  • Supports junior pastry staff through guidance and training.
  • Curious and eager to learn new techniques, organized and clean in workflow.
  • Quality focused with strong self discipline, positive attitude with strong work ethic.

Technical Skills Pastry Production

  • Preparation of bread, viennoiserie, cakes, pastries, cookies, and desserts.
  • Dough preparation and handling, baking and finishing techniques.
  • Plating and dessert presentation, recipe consistency and scaling.

Operational Skills

  • Production planning and organization, communicates expectations clearly.
  • Inventory management for pastry ingredients.
  • Time management during high volume production, maintaining consistency in taste and appearance.

Equipment Knowledge

  • Mixers and baking ovens, dough sheeters and pastry tools.
  • Temperature sensitive storage equipment, basic digital and administrative tools.

Culinary Knowledge Pastry & Dessert

  • American pastries: cookies, brownies, dessert bars.
  • French pastry basics: brioche, enriched doughs, creams and fillings.
  • Danish bakery products: laminated pastries, sweet dough applications.
  • Technical understanding: baking chemistry, dough fermentation, chocolate and sugar basics.
  • Texture, moisture, and consistency control, decoration and finishing standards.

Food Safety & Compliance

  • Strong understanding of hygiene and sanitation.
  • Proper ingredient storage and labeling, HACCP awareness and implementation.
  • Clean workstation management, allergen awareness and contamination prevention.

Professional Background

  • Minimum 3 5 years in pastry and bakery production.
  • Experience in commercial pastry operations.
  • Ability to handle volume while maintaining quality.
  • Experience working within structured kitchen systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and presentation.

Compensation

  • Pay: AED 7,000.00 AED 10,000.00 per month.
