Backend Engineer

About the Opportunity

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend microservices supporting trading, account management, and core platform features.
• Build RESTful and event-driven APIs consumed by web and mobile applications.
• Develop caching strategies and optimize database queries for high-performance execution.
• Work with Kafka and RabbitMQ to support asynchronous and event-driven workflows.
• Ensure reliability through monitoring, observability, and incident management practices.
• Collaborate with frontend, mobile, and product teams to define API contracts and solution behavior.
• Participate in architectural discussions, performance reviews, and code quality improvements.
• Deliver systems engineered for scale, low latency, and zero-error transaction processing.

Skills and Qualifications

• At least 4 years of professional Java backend development experience is required.
• Strong command of Spring Boot and the broader Spring ecosystem is required.
• Experience building and deploying microservices and distributed systems is required.
• Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis, is required.
• Experience with message queues or event-driven architectures is required.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is required.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized environments is required.
• Fintech, trading, or high-volume transactional systems experience is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to design performant, resilient backend solutions are required.
