Role Overview
Serve as senior legal counsel supporting GCGRA's legal, regulatory, and operational mandate.
Independently manage complex legal matters and advise stakeholders on the UAE gaming regulatory framework.
Work with government entities, external counsel, regulated entities, and industry stakeholders to manage legal risk and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Advise on regulatory, corporate, commercial, contractual, privacy, data protection, procurement, and consumer protection matters.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage agreements, contracts, legal instruments, policies, and related documentation.
- Research UAE laws, regulations, gaming frameworks, and international regulatory developments.
- Assess legal and regulatory risks and develop practical mitigation strategies.
- Support policies, regulatory frameworks, legislative proposals, guidance, legal impact assessments, and consultations.
- Support licensing, compliance, investigations, enforcement actions, disputes, and governance processes.
- Maintain relationships with government entities, regulators, international counterparts, external advisors, and industry stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer with a Bachelor's degree in Law.
- At least 10 years of relevant legal experience is required.
- Experience independently managing complex commercial, regulatory, and corporate legal portfolios is required.
- Strong knowledge of UAE legal and regulatory frameworks is required.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required.
- English fluency is required; Arabic fluency is advantageous.
- Tier 1 law-firm experience, regulatory experience, and highly regulated-sector experience are preferred.
