Autonomous Driving Software Engineer - Motion Planning (MI, Troy)

Tackle the challenge of autonomous drive through innovative software stacks that interface with all components of the automated driving vehicles

Design and develop motion planning algorithm for autonomous driving systems

Implement the prototype motion planning algorithms in an autonomous vehicle for on-road and simulation tests

Collaborate with the larger team of AD engineers, gaining exposure to multiple engineering disciplines and several projects simultaneously throughout the development lifecycle

Bachelor?s degree or higher in Robotics, ECE, Computer Science or relevant field.

Minimum 1+ years of software development experience with undergraduate degree or graduate degree plus related academic experience.

C++ or Python development experience in a Unix/Linux environment

Experience with motion planning algorithm development

Understand search-based planning algorithm (A*, D*) and sample-based planning algorithms (RRT, RRT*, etc.)

Understand and be able to use optimization algorithms for motion planning (MPC, iLQR, DDP)

Familiar with vehicle kinematics or dynamics

Basic understanding of robotics algorithms (localization, perception, planning and control)

Basic understanding of robotics system including sensors, actuators, mechanical and software system

Strong problem solving skills

Ability to learn
