About the Role
Mekdam Holding Group seeks an Automation Technician for an Oil & Gas/Petrochemical/Fertilizer industry role. The technician will carry out routine, corrective, shutdown maintenance and project commissioning tasks in various automation systems, including DCS/ESD and turbo machinery control systems.

- Carry out routine, corrective, shutdown maintenance and Project commissioning tasks in various Automation systems
- Initiate and gain approval for work permits to facilitate execution of assigned tasks
- Conduct toolbox meeting to discuss scheduled work activities and ensure correct tools and safety equipment are available
- Carry out ICS computer maintenance including Antivirus and Microsoft Security Patch update, operating system configurations, basic troubleshooting
- Ensure Automation assets are maintained in compliance with company cyber security requirements
- Support installation, testing and Commissioning activities of ICS projects / upgrades
- Participate in call duty to provide maintenance support outside working hours
Requirements
- Engineering Diploma in respective discipline (12+3 years)
- 06 years relevant and hands on experience in respective discipline, in Oil & Gas/Petrochemical/Fertilizer industry
- Working level proficiency in English language
- Knowledge of PTW (permit to work) system in large scale industries
- Hands on experience with DCS/ESD control systems (Honeywell, Triconex, Siemens, Allen Bradley)
- Experience with turbo machinery control and protection systems (Bently Nevada, CCC, Triconex ITCC, Jaquet, Woodward, Mark VI)

Language and Safety Requirements
- Technicians shall have working level proficiency of Read, Write, speak and Understand competency in English language.
- Shall be well familiar with the hazardous chemicals / materials used in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical/Fertilizer industry, their hazards, and safe practices.
- Shall always adhere to Company Safety requirements.
- Shall have knowledge about PTW (permit to work) system in large scale industries and shall pass COMPANY's PTW as well as PTW acceptance authorization post training assessment tests.
- Shall understand and work within the framework of COMPANY's Maintenance, HSEQ Policy, procedures and regulations.
Qualifications, Experience and Competency
- Engineering Diploma in respective discipline (12+3 years)
- 06 years relevant and hands on experience in respective discipline, in Oil & Gas/Petrochemical/Fertilizer industry and competency*
- Hands on experience of the Work order part of EAM (enterprise asset maintenance) module of SAP would be preferable.
Automation Technician Responsibilities
- Carry out routine, corrective, shutdown maintenance and Project commissioning tasks in various Automation systems.
- Ensure that Company Safety and Automation Systems (SAS) are maintained in an efficient and economical way.
- Initiate and gain approval for work permits to facilitate the execution of assigned tasks in compliance with Company safety requirements.
- Conduct toolbox meeting to discuss scheduled work activities and ensure correct tools and safety equipment are available prior to commencement of work.
- Carry out the assigned day to day routine and non routine maintenance jobs in the Automation systems installed in Company.
- Ensure that the work is completed on time, meeting Company quality standards.
- Carry out ICS computer maintenance including Antivirus and Microsoft Security Patch update, operating system configurations, basic troubleshooting of hardware/software issues.
- Ensure Automation assets are maintained in compliance with the Company cyber security requirements.
- Support the installation, testing and Commissioning activities of ICS projects / upgrades.
- Ensure good housekeeping to secure the cleanliness of the workplace.
- Comply with Company Life Saving Rules as per PSa 001 Life Saving Rule Document.
- Participate in the call duty to provide maintenance support outside working hours.
Required System Experience
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting experience in the following DCS/ESD Control systems: Honeywell TDC 3000 Systems, Honeywell Experion Systems, Honeywell Safety Systems (FSC & Safety Manager), Triconex Safety Systems, Siemens S7 PLC System, Allen Bradley PLC Systems
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting experience in the following Turbo Machinery Control and Protection Systems: Bently Nevada Vibration and Axial Monitoring System, CCC Anti surge Control System, Triconex ITCC Systems, Jaquet Over speed Protection Systems, Woodward Electronic Governors, MARK VI and MARK
- Knowledge in the areas of computer hardware and software maintenance
- Knowledge in Cyber Security guidelines and networking
