Role overview
AECOM is seeking an Automation Engineer to support advanced manufacturing and industrial projects in a customer-facing role.
The position supports industrial automation environments and reports to an Industrial Manufacturing Principal.
Automation environments
- Relevant experience may include PLCs, SCADA systems, industrial automation, systems integration, robotics, drives, servos, motion control, DCS, and industrial control systems.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial automation control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, drives, and networks.
- Create and sustain automation and control system architectures.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and system owners to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Test and commission automation systems.
- Analyze requirements for industrial automated manufacturing control systems.
- Travel to client sites across the United States and internationally when necessary.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus six years of hands-on experience with motion control systems and electrical control panel design, or equivalent education and experience.
