Prepare and organize AutoCAD drawings, method statements, and calculations for lifting and rigging work as directed by the site supervisor.
Conduct site visits, measure areas for crane footprints, and select suitable tools and tackles according to standards and procedures.
Major duties and responsibilities
- Coordinate with the rigging supervisor on lifting plans, minutes of meeting documentation, risk assessments, and calculations.
- Prepare lifting and rigging drawings in AutoCAD for execution in accordance with QatarEnergy lifting equipment standards and procedures.
- Communicate clearly with support staff and field personnel about job risks and required controls.
- Identify site risks, assess jobs, and prepare required documentation with the team.
- Discuss lifting, rigging, GBP calculations, and risk assessments with the rigging supervisor.
- Read lifting-plan drawings and arrange the documents needed to execute and complete work.
- Prepare and follow permit-to-work requirements and obtain approvals from relevant parties.
- Prepare plans for routine and non-routine maintenance lifting activities involving motors, pumps, valves, exchanger bundles, coolers, blowers, spools, fin fans, and bearings.
- Provide timely information to the Heavy Equipment Supervisor for scheduling.
Education and experience
- Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering of three years or an equivalent qualification.
- Eight to fifteen years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Related certifications and experience letters must be provided.
Pre-qualification and certification
- Mechanical AutoCAD certificates are required.
- Crane lifting drawing certification or experience covering elevation, plot plans, and tool details is preferred.
- Oil and gas safety-related certifications are preferred.
- A driving license, preferably a Qatar driving license, is preferred.
- Computer literacy is required; familiarity with AutoCAD, 3D Max, Katia, STADD, Microsoft Office, and SAP is preferred.
Work location
- The role requires in-person work and site visits in the Mesaieed Industrial Area.
