Associate Java Full-Stack Developer joining an Agile technology team building the next generation of travel applications.
The team develops backend systems and REST APIs that process large volumes of searches and partner data.
Work model
- This role follows a hybrid work model with two days in the office.
- On remaining days, employees may work remotely or from the office, according to the manager and team arrangement.
Responsibilities
- Participate in mission-critical projects with direct business impact.
- Contribute to a cross-functional Agile team that experiments, iterates, and delivers product objectives.
- Develop backend systems, REST APIs, and user-facing React and JavaScript features.
- Connect user-facing features with GraphQL APIs.
- Build low-latency, high-throughput transactional services with continuous integration and automated testing.
- Use SQL to query application data for real-time investigation and analysis.
- Understand codebases, systems, and business requirements to implement application changes.
- Collaborate respectfully with teammates and contribute to solution decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
- 2+ years of Core Java experience.
- Experience with Spring Framework, web services, and APIs.
- 1+ years of React and JavaScript experience.
- Basic GraphQL familiarity or desire to learn GraphQL.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude or Cursor.
- Strong SQL composition skills.
- Understanding of real-time and batch big data solutions using technologies such as Spark, Kafka, KSql, Flink, or Apache Beam.
- Experience with NoSQL stores such as Cassandra, Bigtable, or MongoDB.
- Microservices, Kubernetes, or Docker experience is a positive qualification.
Compensation
- The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000 CAD.
- Certain roles may also be eligible for an annual bonus or equity grant.
