Requirements

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Basic understanding of cost estimation, quantity measurement, and construction processes
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English

Job Description
- Parsons is looking for an Associate Quantity Surveyor to join the team in Qatar.
- The role supports cost and quantity related activities across engineering and construction projects.
- You will work closely with senior team members and multidisciplinary project teams.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates for engineering and construction projects.
- Reviewing project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to understand project scope and quantify works.
- Supporting the development of Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost breakdowns, and measurement sheets.
- Collaborating with senior quantity surveyors/estimators and project teams to gather data.
- Conducting basic market research to obtain pricing information for materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Assisting in the preparation of tender documents and proposals for submission to clients.
- Maintaining and updating cost databases, historical cost records, and standard estimating/measurement tools.
- Performing basic quality checks on quantities and estimates to support accuracy.
- Providing general administrative and technical support to the commercial/estimating team.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Cost Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Basic understanding of cost estimation, quantity measurement, and construction processes.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring
- Familiarity with estimating and/or quantity surveying software (e.g., Primavera, CostX).
- Basic knowledge of construction contracts and project management principles.
- Internship or prior experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, or construction projects.
