- Coordinates and manages activities of assigned division/department and assumes overall 24 hour responsibility
- Develops department goals and objectives, evidence based patient care practice, policies, and procedures
- Provides overall organization guidance and direction in collaboration with managers
- Prepares and monitors budgeting and quality management
- Forecasts nursing & clinical services patient care needs and evaluates patient care systems/programs
- Accountable for administrative and fiscal management of the division/department and meeting KPIs
- Interprets and implements JHAH, Nursing and Clinical Services policies
- Plans and oversees staffing, ongoing education, training and development for staff
- Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing & clinical services practice
Requirements
- Clinical direction and leadership experience in nursing and clinical services
- Experience in managing division/department activities and assuming 24 hour responsibility
- Ability to develop department goals, objectives, evidence based patient care practice, policies, and procedures
- Experience in budgeting and quality management
- Knowledge of regulatory standards such as CBAHI, JCI, IHI

Role Overview
- Provides clinical direction and leadership for the assigned Nursing and Clinical Services Division/Department.
- Coordinates and manages activities of assigned division/department and assumes overall 24 hour responsibility.
- Develops department goals and objectives, evidence based patient care practice, policies, and procedures in a cost effective environment.
- Provides overall organization guidance and direction in collaboration with the managers, prepares and monitors budgeting and quality management.
Principal Duties
- Performs all managerial functions common to the division/department level as established by JHAH.
- Manages and provides leadership that incorporates JHAH mission and vision, KPIs and standards.
- Manages direct reports effectively, delegating appropriately and holding them accountable.
- Provides leadership, supervision, functional guidance, and developmental activities for nursing & clinical services managers.
- Ensures performance issues are addressed and personnel policies are adhered to.
- Provides guidance and support to all team members and managers in dealing with HR issues.
- Promotes a positive work environment conducive to productive, collegial relations.
- Builds a pool of talent to sustain future performance by identifying manpower requirements and partaking in recruitment.
- Works closely with senior management to deliver key initiatives and manage change.
- Promotes involvement of Nursing & Clinical Services in Community Health Awareness Programs.
- Takes responsibility for clinical education and professional development of the division/department.
- Conducts meetings with managers to communicate information, address quality issues, and problem solve.
