Role Overview

The employer's client is a global technology company developing technology products and focusing on product quality and reliability.

The Test and Quality Assurance team works with Engineering, Design, Operations, and Quality across the product development lifecycle.

The Associate Principal Hardware and Software Test Engineer will lead product-level testing and quality initiatives across hardware and software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead early-stage Alpha testing to identify product issues and assess performance in real-world conditions.
  • Validate laboratory test outcomes against product design and quality requirements.
  • Analyze in-life product quality and other data streams to generate actionable insights.
  • Build and maintain quality dashboards for early indicators of hardware and software quality.
  • Develop product-level test specifications and perform detailed product requirement analysis.
  • Align test specifications with development milestones from concept through production and post-launch.
  • Improve testing methodologies using AI/ML and advanced data analytics.
  • Act as a technical authority and collaborate with Development, Operations, Quality, and Design teams.
  • Integrate testing processes throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Report test progress and product quality status to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in product quality, hardware/software testing, or related areas is required.

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong Python proficiency for data manipulation and statistical analysis is required.
  • Hands-on experience with Pandas and NumPy for data processing is required.
  • Experience with Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Plotly for data visualization and automated quality reporting is required.
  • Experience building automated dashboards using Tableau or Power BI is required.
  • Strong SQL proficiency and experience querying complex datasets are required.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS Redshift is required.
  • Strong understanding of electronics hardware and hardware-software interfacing is required.
  • Knowledge of IoT software architecture, including embedded systems, mobile applications, cloud, and machine learning, is required.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • The candidate must be able to present complex technical information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • The candidate must be able to manage multiple product deliverables and schedules simultaneously.
