Drives the manufacturing vision with all manufacturing operations in North America, including Hourly Associates, Operational Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Team Leaders, Facilities Management.
Summary (Major Purpose of the Role)
Serve as a team member within the Clinical Care Engineering group providing technical support to develop new medical devices and improve existing products.
Main Activities/Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain design history documentation in accordance with established new product development procedures.
- Construct functional mechanical/electrical prototype systems throughout the design process.
- Assist with qualification test activities to ensure that products comply with technical specifications and requirements. Generate test protocols and document test results.
- Coordinate with external resources and suppliers for component and subsystem sourcing.
- Interact with internal cross-functional departments to complete project related activities.
- Participate in project and technical design reviews.
- Ensure compliance with quality control policies and applicable regulatory standards.

Experience with all levels of documentation associated with new product development
Team-oriented and capable of working in a multi-disciplinary and creative environment
Highly motivated and capable of setting and achieving goals with minimal supervision
Possess strong written and verbal communications skills
Reporting Relationships and Supervision
This position will work under the supervision of the Manager, Engineering - Mechanical
Education and Experience
BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Experience: 0-4 years of relevant product development experience
Experience with 3D solid modeling (SolidWorks preferred)
Ability to read, understand and produce engineering drawings
Proficiency with MS Office applications
Familiar with basic machining and fabrication principles
Familiar with injection molding and plastic part assembly process and methods
Finite Element Analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) experience
Experience with all levels of procedures and activities associated with new medical product development
Experience with development of medical devices in accordance which applicable ISO or FDA regulatory requirements
