Associate Manager - Plant Analysis

Job Purpose

Financial Planning and Operations

• Develop and oversee financial planning and analysis policies, systems, processes, procedures, and controls.
• Supervise daily financial planning and analysis activities for the Operations area.
• Review month-end accruals, operating parameters, mass balance, plan-to-produce activities, and inventory valuation.
• Review operating budgets, annual plans, estimates, assumptions, variances, and cost and profitability targets.
• Monitor expenditures and advise Operations on cost control and budget performance.

Performance and Capital Management

• Review financial performance against prior-year and budgeted results and investigate significant variances.
• Review monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts and report findings to senior Operations management.
• Supervise operational capital expenditure activities and ensure spending remains within approved budgets.
• Review analytical support for capital expenditure decisions.
• Review commercial evaluations for large and complex Operations proposals and support external negotiations.

Reporting and Controls

• Review management reports covering cash flow, balance sheet, income statements, capital assets, revenue, and plant performance.
• Review inventory reconciliation reports and ensure accurate inventory and asset analysis.
• Ensure implementation of corporate internal financial controls within the Operations area.
• Coordinate with Operations departments, auditors, service providers, and consultants.

People and Compliance

• Supervise subordinates and provide formal and informal feedback against individual targets.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, legislative, and organizational policies.
• Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or an equivalent field.
• Fully qualified accountant with ACCA, ACA, CMS, CIMA, or an equivalent qualification.
• 6–8 years of financial planning and forecasting experience, including experience in a large manufacturing environment.
• At least 3 years in progressively increasing managerial responsibilities in the metals and mining industry.
• Experience managing a team and interacting with large, multinational groups.

Knowledge and Skills

• In-depth knowledge of aluminum manufacturing, EGA products, and business strategies.
• Knowledge of statutory and internal financial management standards and financial policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of industrial best practices, laws, and regulations.
• Effective communication, presentation, and management reporting skills.
