WSP is seeking an Associate Technical Director – Electrical for Power Transmission & Distribution projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves leading the electrical discipline, managing teams, and delivering HV substation projects for Middle East clients.

Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership of Electrical Discipline including technical leadership, client management, project delivery, bids & proposals, and people management
- Perform design review for electrical deliverables related to T&D projects while acting as a lead and directly interfacing with clients
- Manage a team of engineers and designers in carrying out electrical design review and basic engineering works
- Prepare project specifications for material and equipment purchase and installation
- Conduct feasibility studies, conceptual design reports, design reviews, and monitor site supervision work
- Lead proposal and bidding work for all power & network related projects
Requirements
- Graduate or Post Graduate Degree in Electrical engineering from an accredited institution
- 15 20 years of experience in a lead role on large size capital projects in Middle East
- Strong technical knowledge in primary & secondary detailed engineering of EHV substations
- Experience with Middle East Utilities like TAQA/ADDC/SEC/NGSA/DEWA
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills

Job Description
- WSP is seeking a Technical Expert with core expertise in Electrical domain with proven experience on HV Sub stations while working on Power Transmission & Distribution Projects.
- The incumbent would be a proven leader with strong technical expertise who will be managing electrical team, enable timely and quality delivery of projects and act as the front face to key clients in Middle East.
Responsibilities
- Role relating to Associate Technical Director– Electrical for Power Transmission & Distribution projects.
- Overall leadership of Electrical Discipline including technical leadership, client management, project delivery, bids & proposals & people management.
- Strong technical knowledge in both primary & secondary detailed engineering of EHV substations.
- Expertise in conceptual engineering drawings & designs, BOQs for EHV projects covering AIS and GIS from 132 kV up to 400kV.
- Perform design review for electrical deliverables related to T&D projects while acting as a lead and directly interfacing with clients.
- Manage a team of engineers and designers in carrying out electrical design review and basic engineering works.
- Preparation of project specifications for material and equipment purchase and installation.
- Experience of conducting feasibility studies, conceptual design report, design reviews and monitoring site supervision work.
- Delivery of accurate and thorough designs that meet industry standards and specifications.
- Review of internal and external designs for code compliance, good design practice and constructability.
- Maintaining complete project documentation with respect to substation design and construction.
- Lead the proposal and bidding work for all power & network related projects.
Qualifications
- Possess a Graduate or Post Graduate Degree in Electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
- 15 20 years of experience of working in a lead role on large size capital projects in Middle East.
- Familiarity with software tools like Auto CAD, ETAP, PSS/E, ASPEN will be an added advantage.
- Experience of working on projects with Middle East Utilities like TAQA/ADDC/SEC/NGSA/DEWA will be strong differentiator.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Self motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
