Role Overview

The Assistant Sales Manager supports hotel sales activities and revenue generation across assigned market segments.

The role focuses on group business, client relationships, occupancy, profitability, and coordination with hotel departments.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve budgeted sales goals and assist with annual sales planning and monthly booking reports.
  • Sell and confirm group business while meeting revenue and profit-margin goals.
  • Prepare client proposals, develop market data, and recommend programs to meet client needs.
  • Conduct sales calls, client inspections, entertainment activities, and follow-ups with guests.
  • Coordinate booked business and guest requests with hotel departments.
  • Follow up on group bookings to support occupancy and report booking status.
  • Develop assigned-market projects under the Hotel Marketing Plan.
  • Communicate group VIP details and track reservations for statistical purposes.
  • Liaise with Accounts Payable regarding credit issues and follow responsible business ethics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of hotel sales experience, preferably in a 5-star or luxury hotel.
  • Experience in corporate sales, leisure sales, local accounts, and travel trade.
  • Proven ability to achieve sales targets and generate hotel revenue.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Experience with business development, client acquisition, account management, sales calls, client visits, inspections, and presentations.
  • Knowledge of the local hospitality market and competitor activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel sales or CRM systems.
  • Excellent English and willingness to travel locally for client meetings and networking.
