Responsibilities
- Report to the Resident Engineer and assist in supervising the construction of viaduct works and associated items
- Coordinate direct activities with other engineers and members of the construction supervision team
- Assist the Resident Engineer in reviewing shop drawings, design proposals, method statements and other activities related to the viaduct section
- Coordinate with Parsons' design engineers for resolution of related issues
- Maintain the daily diary and the daily reports by the inspectors
- Coordinate with the contractor engineers on scheduling and application of resources
- Direct, assist and monitor the performance of the inspectors and surveyors as applicable
- Convene and chair special meetings with service authorities, contractor, subcontractors and other parties
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of records
- Ensure safety goals are achieved and oversee implementation of safety procedures
- Prepare / Assist in the preparation of Weekly and Monthly progress reports
- Check and measure performed work, record and assist to display progress vs. programmed work
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience in design review and construction supervision of viaduct components
- Must have experience in Segmental Bridge Construction using Launching Gantry and bridges constructed by Balance Cantilever method
- Should be able to review and justify material submissions, analyze laboratory and technical reports, carry out acceptance sampling plans, testing and quality measures
- Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with excellent capability in written technical skills
- Working knowledge of construction sequences and standard work procedures of the industry
- Work experience on a metro rail project is preferrable

Job Description
- Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Assistant Resident Engineer Viaduct to join our Construction Supervision team on a Metro Rail project.
- In this role you will get to oversee the construction of viaducts, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.
What You'll Be Doing
- Report to the Resident Engineer and assist in supervising the construction of viaduct works and associated items.
- Coordinate his direct activities with the other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.
- Assist the Resident Engineer in reviewing of shop drawings, design proposals, method statements and other activities including correspondence related to the viaduct section.
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and construction techniques related to viaducts.
- Coordinate with Parsons' design engineers for resolution of related issues.
- Maintain the daily diary and the daily reports by the inspectors.
- Experience in monitoring construction quality and ensuring adherence to standards and specifications.
- Coordinate with the contractor engineers on scheduling and application of resources.
- Direct, assist and monitor the performance of the inspectors and surveyors as applicable.

What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Bachelor degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university is required.
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience in design review and construction supervision of erection of beams, columns, and supports, foundations, deck, abutments, deck, spans, girders, bearings, expansion joints etc. and other components typically used in a viaduct installation/construction.
- Must have experience in Segmental Bridge Construction using Launching Gantry and bridges constructed by Balance Cantilever method.
- Should be able to review and justify the material submissions, analyze laboratory and technical reports, carry out acceptance sampling plans, testing and quality measures, ensuring the compliance with the project’s specifications.
- Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with an excellent capability in written technical skills.
- Working knowledge of construction sequences and standard work procedures of the industry.
- Work experience on a metro rail project is preferrable.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring
- Experience in all aspects of civil supervision of major elevated/viaduct and infrastructure projects in the Gulf region is preferred.
- Engineering consultancy experience within UAE/GCC is preferable.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
