About the Role
Parsons Corporation is looking for an Assistant Resident Engineer (Structures/Bridges) to join their team in Abu Dhabi. - Report to the Resident Engineer and assist in supervising the construction of bridges, structures, and associated works.
- Act in place of the Resident Engineer when they are on leave or absent, as required.
- Coordinate activities with other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.
- Assist the Resident Engineer in reviewing shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, and related correspondence, and prepare draft responses for review.
- Coordinate with Parsons’ design engineers to resolve technical issues related to structural works.
- Maintain daily diary and ensure inspectors’ daily reports are completed accurately and on time.
- Coordinate with the contractor’s engineers on scheduling and allocation of resources.
- Direct, assist, and monitor the performance of inspectors and surveyors, as applicable.
- Convene and chair special meetings with contractors, subcontractors, and relevant stakeholders related to scope of work.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of records, including inspection reports and site correspondence.
- Ensure project safety goals are achieved and oversee the implementation of safety procedures within scope.
- Prepare and/or assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the design, site supervision, and construction management of infrastructure projects, including roads and bridges.
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience managing supervision activities on large scale infrastructure projects within Abu Dhabi (mandatory).
- Ability to review and justify material submissions, analyze laboratory and technical reports, and apply acceptance sampling, testing, and quality measures in line with project specifications.
- Sound knowledge of contractual relationships and construction contract administration.
- Fully computer literate, with the ability to use relevant software to access data, maintain records, and generate reports.
- Fluent in written and spoken English, with strong technical writing and communication skills.
