Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage day to day construction of civil infrastructure works including roads, drainage networks, utilities, earthworks, retaining structures
- Support the Resident Engineer in administering construction contracts
- Oversee construction of roadworks, pedestrian pathways, cycle tracks, and access roads
- Coordinate and supervise utility works including trenching, ducting, chambers, and connections
- Review and comment on contractor submissions such as method statements, shop drawings, traffic management plans, and ITPs
- Monitor construction quality and materials, witness relevant tests
- Work with survey teams to ensure accurate setting out, levels, and alignments
- Coordinate interfaces between different work packages
- Monitor progress against construction programme, identify delays, recommend mitigation
- Manage non conformance reports, site instructions, and technical queries
- Participate in regular site meetings with contractors, consultants, and client representatives
- Lead and support safety initiatives on site
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline
- Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in construction supervision of civil infrastructure works
- Good knowledge of drainage and utility design concepts
- Familiarity with applicable civil engineering standards and codes
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and technical specifications
- Experience implementing quality control and assurance procedures
- Proven ability to lead and supervise inspectors and junior engineers
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with project management and document control systems

What You'll Be Doing
- Supervise and manage day to day construction of civil infrastructure works on the island.
- Support the Resident Engineer in administering construction contracts.
- Oversee construction of roadworks, pedestrian pathways, cycle tracks, and access roads.
- Coordinate and supervise utility works (potable water, irrigation, fire fighting, electrical, telecommunications).
- Review and comment on contractor submissions such as method statements, shop drawings, traffic management plans, and ITPs.
- Monitor construction quality and materials, witness relevant tests.
- Work with survey teams to ensure accurate setting out, levels, and alignments.
- Coordinate interfaces between different work packages.
