Job Description

  • Prepare and analyse cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for construction projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documentation, bills of quantities, and specification schedules.
  • Monitor and report on project costs, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate cost records and project documentation in accordance with organisational standards.
  • Liaise with contractors, consultants, and clients to gather cost related information and clarifications.
  • Support the cost team in contract administration and procurement activities.
  • Utilise cost management software to input, track, and analyse project financial data.
  • Conduct site visits to verify quantities and assess project progress against cost plans.
  • Assist in the preparation of cost reports and presentations for project stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of cost management processes and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE building regulations and industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years' experience in quantity surveying, cost management, or related construction roles.
  • Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, practices, and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation and cost planning techniques.
  • Competency with cost management software (e.g., Elecosoft, Causeway, or similar platforms).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Thorough understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and tender processes.
  • Excellent numerical accuracy and analytical capability.
  • Strong organisational and time keeping skills.
  • Effective communication and people skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Experience working on construction projects in the Middle East or UAE (desirable).
  • Professional quantity surveying qualification or membership with a recognised body (desirable).
