Assistant Project Manager

ONxpress – GO Rail Expansion (On‑Corridor Works)

Reports to Project Manager, t he Assistant Project Manager’s key responsibilities are:

excavation, mass excavations, structure works, and road works.

Create scope of work for procurement packages and complete technical evaluations of proposals.

Develop and monitor project schedule and support schedule narratives.

Manage subcontractors and resolve any potential conflicts.

Create progress billings, and complete accruals and forecasts.

Monitor daily production and verify quantities.

Complete work plans, hour by hour schedules, manpower requirements and staging plans to apply for and manage rail corridor access.

Review design drawings and identify any gaps or areas of improvement to drive schedule and cost benefits.

Provide status and progress reports to customers, project team, and management.

Forecast and track change orders and scope changes.

Assist and monitor safety programs and statistics as required.

Write and review purchase specifications and subcontract documents.

Involve actively in quality assurance by ensuring adherence to the quality management plan.

Provide estimating and project management back-up as required.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

· Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of organization.

· Advanced Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills. Experience with various document control software.

· Post secondary education in Civil Engineering or Civil discipline or Equivalent.

· Minimum 4 years’ experience in project engineering in a construction or EPC environment

· Excellent interpersonal communication (both oral and written) skills.

· Strong Interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team.

· Organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize and multi-task/ Service orientated.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

· Experience working with codes, standards, and general construction practices.

· Knowledge of construction documentation management.

· Experience working heavy civil, or buildings preferred.

· Demonstrate technical expertise and understanding of processes and compliance requirements in construction industry.

· Computer literacy (AutoCAD/Microsoft office tools/BIM software).

Salary range: 115,000- 125,000
