Overview

AtkinsRéalis is hiring Assistant Project Managers for its UK Infrastructure Project Delivery Practice.

The team delivers projects across water, defence, buildings and places, energy, and aviation.

Roles are based in Bristol, Birmingham, Derby, and Cardiff and support complex infrastructure programmes.

The practice provides training, mentoring, professional accreditation, and pathways toward chartership and APM qualifications.

Your role

  • Support Project Managers in delivering large or complex multidisciplinary projects throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist with planning, programme management, stakeholder engagement, risk management, reporting, and project controls.
  • Support contractual and commercial risk management and prepare accurate project information for decision-making.
  • Coordinate communication among clients, project teams, subcontractors, partners, and internal disciplines.
  • Maintain project programmes, plans, governance documentation, trackers, and registers.
  • Support financial management, including expenditure monitoring, revenue and forecast cost tracking, earned value reporting, and financial records.
  • Assist with project close-out, lessons learned, client satisfaction surveys, and business development inputs.

About you

  • Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent in project management, engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
  • Working towards or holding a recognised professional qualification such as APM or chartered status.
  • Experience supporting design commissions or design and build contracts on major infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in water, defence, rail, or wider infrastructure sectors is advantageous.
  • Knowledge and practical experience of contract administration, particularly NEC3 or NEC4 contracts.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel to projects.
  • Experience supporting projects against time, cost, and quality objectives, including project controls, reporting, and earned value principles.
  • Strong organisational, communication, stakeholder management, and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
