Al Ain University is recruiting an Assistant Professor in Communication and Crisis Management.

The role includes teaching, student assessment, curriculum development, research, accreditation, project supervision, and professional engagement.

Qualifications and conditions

  • PhD in Strategic Communication, Crisis Communication, Corporate Communication, or a closely related specialization.
  • A proven record of excellence in undergraduate teaching with at least three years of university teaching experience.
  • Research published in international peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus.
  • Commitment to renewing, developing, and proposing curricula and specialized courses in Communication and Crisis Management.
  • Ability to prepare course files and learning outcomes reports and align assessment methods with intended learning outcomes.
  • Ability to teach theoretical and applied aspects of Communication and Crisis Management.
  • High proficiency in using information technology and digital tools in teaching.

Teaching and crisis communication

  • Develop and teach specialized courses in Communication and Crisis Management.
  • Teach crisis and emergency communication, strategic communication, corporate reputation management, government communication, risk and rumor management, and internal communication.
  • Demonstrate crisis communication planning methodologies and response scenarios through practical applications and simulations based on real-world local and regional cases.
  • Monitor and analyze media discourse and social media content during crises.
  • Use digital analytics tools to measure impact and evaluate communication strategy effectiveness.

Student and academic responsibilities

  • Assess and monitor students’ academic progress and provide appropriate feedback.
  • Supervise graduation projects and participate in relevant research activities and college and university committees.
  • Encourage and guide students toward careers in Communication and Crisis Management.
  • Maintain positive and effective relationships with students in a supportive learning environment.

Curriculum and accreditation

  • Contribute to curriculum development and course management in accordance with university and college standards.
  • Contribute to quality assurance and academic accreditation requirements, including supporting documentation and evidence.
  • Prepare course files and learning outcomes reports and align assessment methods with intended learning outcomes.

External and community engagement

  • Build professional relationships with government entities and organizations involved in crisis management.
  • Participate in community and professional engagement activities that serve the university and local community.
